The Proposal by Tasmina Perry

****4 stars
I had seen alot of advertising for this book and was looking for a book to read. I haven't read a Tasmina Perry book. I really liked this book with the two intertwining stories. I loved the characters and found myself taking this book slow and enjoying it. I will definitely have to look into other books by Perry, if they are well written as this one, I have a new author to add to my favorite list :)

No-One Ever Has Sex On A Tuesday: A Very Funny Romantic Novel by Tracy Bloom

*****5 stars
Ok, I know in the title it says that it is a very funny romantic novel, but they hit the nail on the head. This was a bit of a twist of a plot and very fresh. I truly laughed out loud, found myself squirming and being frustrated in this book. It kept me hooked from the first chapter and I will definitely go back and reread this one again.

Rachel's Holiday by Marian Keyes

***** 5 stars
I read this book many years ago. I was recently chatting with a friend, telling her that Marian Keyes book "Rachel's Holiday" was the book that began me stretching my horizons in reading. I also realized that I had never taken a moment to blog about this book and my experience.
I had pretty much read romance until one day when I was looking for something different to read when I was at the library. I hadn't spent much time surfing to find book, but learning about them through friends or colleagues. I went and saw "Rachel's Holiday" and read the book jacket summary and decided to take it home. Mind you I am from Richmond, VA USA, so looking outside the country for authors didn't occur to me, as I found later, the books by these authors are hard to find. Anyway, I go home and read Rachel's Holiday and absolutely love it. It was a like a guilty pleasure and I couldn't keep from going on and on about it. I soon went back to the library to find every book I could by this author and found there weren't anymore. I then go to the local book store and once again find that she isn't carried there as well. This is where I began my long term reading relationship with Amazon. I soon found that there were awesome writers and books, that have been untapped, and began buying English and Irish authors through Amazon UK. My greatest complaint was the waiting that came between ordering my new favorite author and having to wait for the mailman to deliver.
I now have a Kindle and am so happy to have my authors at a push of the button. Although, I miss the feeling of holding a good book in my hands, and the "Fake" Starbucks address I have used to be able to download from the UK website as I am an American, but all these obstacles have been more than worth it.
So as I was chatting with my friend. She wondered why I had never put the authors books that started it all on my blog. I realized it had been a while since I had gone back and reread the previous Walsh stories. So now I am doing some rereading in between books, so I can make sure that those of you whom visit, can be sure not to miss out on one of the many talented pioneers that got this genre so mainstream, as well as their wonderful reads.

A French Affair by Katie Fforde

****4 stars
Written with Fforde's style. I am a huge fan. I enjoyed this book and found myself interested in the premise of the book. The First Last Kiss by Ali Harris

*****5 stars
Absolutely Amazing Book! This book will put your through the emotions and you will be clinging on wanting more. I have a kindle and in the beginning thought that the way the book was broke up by time excerpts and how they dramatically spanned a long period of time, that I would be confused, but found very quickly on that it adds to the story and has you hooked early on. The characters are real and have depth. I would definitely not treat this as a pool side book as I found myself smiling and laughing at bits and then tears falling. I am sure that people thought I was insane, who were within my proximity. I truly feel this book was well done and way above the normal Chit lit I read, just the depth and emotion of the story alone. I saw when looking a reviews for my next read, where a reviewer commented that this book will stay with you long after you have finished reading it. I feel that this is a correct assessment and will go into my library collection of books to reread someday. Thank you!

Book Jacket Summary:

The Week before the Wedding by Beth Kendrick

****4 stars
A very fast paced book even though it is only set over a weeks span. Truly loved the characters in this book. They really made it come alive. I love the premise of this book as well, but don't want to elaborate as I don't want to give any spoilers. If you are already a Beth Kendrick fan you'll love this, if not, this just may turn you into one :)

Honey Pie (Cupcake Club) by Donna Kauffman

****4 stars
Another series in the Cupcake Club Series. I have thoroughly enjoyed each book in this series. I was a bit hesitant as I began this book as the main Character Honey didn't seem to be like the previous main characters. She was inverted and I found it hard to see how this book would be able to go forward with such a quiet character, but as she begins to forage her new beginning you see her opening up and taking more chances. It was nice to see this character grow.

Book Jacket Summary:
When Honey D'Amourvell inherits property on tiny Sugarberry Island, she's prepared to start a whole new life. Her plan is simple - make a home, open a shop, and maybe, finally, find a place to belong. But sexy, soft hearted mechanic Dylan Ross seems determined to help. He's everything she never imagined she would find in a man, and each kiss is more persuasive than the last...

You Had Me at Hello by Mhairi McFarlane

*****5 stars
"You Had Me at Hello" is a fitting name for this book. It will have you hooked from the first chapter on. I can even pin point the one thing that held me. McFarlane's writing is fresh and witty. This book reminded me of experiences with my first chick lit books of Mirian Keyes, Lisa Young, Sophia Kinsella. They were quick dialect, fun interaction between characters and you felt connected to the story. I truly enjoyed the way this was written, with excerpts from Ben's and Rachel's college years to give you enough back story. I have read some great books recently and I will definitely be adding this author to my watch list. Thank you for a wonderful escape :)

Book Jacket Summary:
What happens when the one that got away comes back? Find out in this sparkling debut from Mhairi McFarlane.
‘Think of the great duos of history. We're just like them.’
‘You mean like Kylie and Jason? Torvill and Dean? Sonny and Cher?’
‘I think you’ve missed the point, Rachel.’
Rachel and Ben. Ben and Rachel. It was them against the world. Until it all fell apart. It’s been a decade since they last spoke, but when Rachel bumps into Ben one rainy day, the years melt away.
They’d been partners in crime and the best of friends. But life has moved on: Ben is married. Rachel is not. Yet in that split second, Rachel feels the old friendship return. And along with it, the broken heart she’s never been able to mend.

Don't Want To Miss a Thing by Jill Mansell

****4 stars
She's back! Am an avid fan of Mansell. Found her books several years back and chewed through them all quickly. Love her quick wit and dialogue as well as real characters. One of my favorite attributes of her writing is her multiple characters, and interaction between. There never seems to be a lull in the book and you are always reading eagerly forward to see what comes next. This was a welcome escape as 2013 hasn't taken a great start for me. Please keep them coming :)

Ruscue Me by Rachel Gibson

***3 stars
Enjoy Gibsons book, especially love the characters and quick pace. A little taste of Sweet Home Alabama.

Before he can get the heck back out of the small town, his aunt makes him an offer he can't refuse. Maybe he'll stick around Lovett for a while. Maybe he'll make a "go" of the Gas and Go. Maybe he'll rescue Sadie out of that pink dress!

The Girl You Left Behind by Jojo Moyes

5 stars *****
I cannot begin to write a review that will do this book justice, but I will try. This is my second book by Jojo Moyes and I really enjoyed "Me Before You" so decided to read "The Girl You Left Behind". I am not going to tell you about the book as you can read that in the book description. What I will tell you is that if I were an author I believe this is the type of book each one wants to achieve in their writing. It isn't just about the characters, it is the entire story that pulls you in and keeps you reading. When you put down the book, you are drawn to return to it quickly and take on the emotional ambiance that the book is creating and feel yourself a part of the story. You are routing characters on and shedding tears for their pain and in confusion for how things can possibly work out. I know as I have finished this book that it will stay with me long after. A must read, just have a bit of time on hand because nothing else will get done while this is on your to do list :)

Book Jacket Summary:

What happened to the girl you left behind?

From Notting Hill to New York...Actually by Ali McNamara

****4 stars
What a great follow up book from Notting Hill with Love Actually. I truly enjoyed seeing the character Scarlett again. For a follow-up book I found this very strong. I think a large part of that is the optimistic Scarlett and her sidekick Oscar, along with all the other supportive characters. I do hope we see more of Scarlett in the future :)

Book Jacket Summary:
Scarlett O'Brien, utterly addicted to romantic films, has found her leading man. She's convinced Sean is Mr Right, but the day-to-day reality of a relationship isn't quite like the movies. With Sean constantly away on business, Scarlett and her new best friend Oscar decide to head to New York for the holiday of a lifetime.

From one famous landmark to the next, Scarlett and Oscar make many new friends during their adventure - including sailors in town for Fleet Week, a famous film star, and Jamie & Max, a TV reporter and cameraman. Scarlett finds herself strangely drawn to Jamie, they appear to have much in common: a love of films and Jamie's search for a parent he never knew. But Scarlett has to ask herself why she is reacting like this to another man when she's so in love with Sean . . .
